Course completion not saving

We have been having issues involving our courses not saving as complete in the SCORM file on our learning system. Most of the time the completion setting is set to 'use quiz result' and the course is saved as SCORM 1.2.

Once uploaded to our learning platform, the SCORM package opens fine and course progress is saved on the course, however this doesn't pull through to our learning system and when the SCORM package from rise is re opened, no progress has been saved.

Is there something I am missing when converting to a SCORM package? Or is this more likely to be a problem on our learning platform's end?

Many thanks :)

  • Hi RubyShepheard,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with completion tracking in your Rise 360 course. Thank you for sharing the details of what you see. I understand you're using SCORM 1.2. Can you also confirm what reporting option you're using when exporting your project to LMS?

We recommend choosing Passed/Incomplete or Passed/Failed for the reporting option. These options will most likely record completion and success statuses in your LMS. Please try to use SCORM 2004, 4th edition, for the LMS standard. It is more robust than earlier LMS standards and reports two status values, making it easier for LMSs to determine completion and success statuses.

If your LMS supports Tin Can API, we recommend it as a top-tier option, and if your LMS supports cmi5, we recommend it as your best option. Please see this article for details:
