Cursor jumping
Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone else has experienced their cursor "jumping" when using Rise? I've been having an issue where I'll be typing and the cursor will suddenly jump to another position in the text or another section.
Thanks
Hello everyone, 🎉
I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360. This update fixes the issue you encountered:
- The cursor would unexpectedly jump to the beginning of the text entry window when entering code or a URL.
There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to publish your Rise 360 course again.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update or the issue you reported!

This started happening again as of 10/6/2023 in both Chrome and Edge. Cleared the caches and restarted with no resolution.

I know this is an old thread, but I just had this issue today. Was this put down to a connectivity issue or should I be looking at something else?

Hello there,
I was wondering if there has been any resolution to a problem I've been experiencing. I have never had this issue before but I noticed it today when I logged into RISE after a long weekend. The interface seemed to have changed slightly, which I assumed was due to an update. However, when I started working on a new module in RISE's microlearning, I noticed that when I type long sentences, the cursor keeps jumping back to the first character in the paragraph, as if I hit the HOME button.
However, this issue is not happening while I am typing anywhere else, such as typing this message, so my keyboard seems to be working fine. Can you please help me understand what might be causing this issue in RISE? Thank you.

Hi Andreas, I recorded my screen above, which I'm guessing is what's happening to you as well. Hope it's fixed soon!

It is happening-- As of today! Not yesterday though. I can't really edit anything in Rise 360

Yes, I was fine the other day as well and now I can't stay in Rise and continue working because it's too time-consuming! Hopefully it's fixed soon!

Here I am, six years after this thread, experiencing the exact same issue. I recently did the upgrade but I think it was for Storyline. Even in just a normal text block, when I type and hit the spacebar, my cursor moves to the beginning of the paragraph. Very frustrating! What was the solution please? Or is it a bug?

I have been working with someone for over a week now. I have already tried all of that and everything he has suggested. No change.
Hi Annie,
Looks like you were able to have a screen sharing session with my colleague Georvy so he could have a chance to take a closer look at the behavior. I recommend continuing to work with him through the support case that you opened if you're still experiencing the behavior after performing the troubleshooting steps that he shared.
Let us know how it goes!

It looks like I am having a problem that hasn't been an issue in over 5 years. I can be in the middle of a sentence, and then the cursor moves to the beginning of the sentence, bringing the second part of the sentence with it. Or an entire line or phrase I have just typed disappears and maybe then re-appears in a different part of the sentence. I am having to fix things 2-3 times now and it's getting frustrating. Lines are also disappearing when I publish a version for review, which makes it look like I leave things incomplete.
This started happening about 2 weeks ago, but it is VERY frustrating today. See the screenshot below that just happened. The part at the beginning jumped from the end as I was typing.

Hi Annie! So sorry you are encountering this. Here are some troubleshooting tips:
- Please make sure your browser is updated, then try again, does the cursor still jump?
- Please try other supported browsers. Does the issue show up in all browsers or just one?
- Try to access Rise in Incognito mode. Does the issue still show up?
If the issue is still present, please open a case with us here so that one of our technical support engineers can help!
