Does anyone else find Rise is slow these days?
Hi Everyone!
I’m happy to share that we just released a new update for Rise 360!
This update fixes the issue that was causing slowdowns while authoring course content. There’s nothing to install for web-based apps. New features and fixes are immediately available!
If you’re still experiencing slowdowns, first please ensure any browser plugins have been disabled. Also, when working with large scale courses, some slowdowns are expected. To remedy that, we suggest breaking larger courses down into smaller pieces.
If you have questions about this update, or the issue you reported, please connect with our team through a support case.
Thank you!
Yes, RISE has been acting up especially the more I edit a course. It has also been reverting changes I have made when I revisit some courses forcing me to make back up copies because this happens so frequently I can't trust my builds.
Also when you add custom storyline blocks, they are not available until you close out Rise and reopen the build. It will get stuck in processing, at least for me. I even let it spin 1 hour and it never processed unless I close and reopen.
System Win11pro, custom High Performance i9 24-core processor, SSD drives etc. and I have a dedicated Router to my machine.
So it's not my machine which is only a few months old and top of the line for now.

I typically work in Rise for about 4 hours a day, so I'm very familiar with average Rise response times. However, I have not worked in Rise for about 2 weeks. Today I spent the entire day editing in Rise, and found that editing is 40 - 50% slower than usual. Using the Block Library Menu, and inserting new blocks, is very slow. Good luck inserting a block from the block library.
I thought it may be a time of day issue, but came back much later to check, and local time is now 9:15 PM and it's no better. Sadly for me and some others it seems, the Rise slowness issue is certainly NOT resolved. Based in Western Canada if that helps.

Good reply thanks for your perspective. I work in RISE for my client about 8-10 hour per day at all times. I am based on the US West Coast but my clients are either in West Coast Eastern time zone or in Australia. RISE since they added AI (which I opted out of) is when it went really buggy including Storyline 360 of which I do not use AI either. I think it's the incorporation of data feeding OpenAI as their subprocessor, using it or not, is overloading the port feed or their servers. IMO.
Not sure if a fix is possible at this point.
Oh and be careful, I've also experienced on a regular basis, RISE reverting changes I've done when it is running very slow.

Hi PaulZamora,
I'm so sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues when authoring in Rise 360! I'd like to learn more about what you're experiencing!
- What browser are you using to author in Rise 360? Do you notice any difference in behavior if you use another supported browser?
- Does clearing your browser's cache, or using an incognito browser make any difference?
- You mentioned Rise 360 has been reverting changes as well. Do you notice this happening in a specific block type or just one?
As my colleague KellyAuner mentioned earlier in this thread, you'll want to make sure these network endpoints are enabled on your computer.
It would be helpful to take a closer look at your setup. Feel free to send us a screen recording of this behavior and a copy of a file you're working on. You can share this in this discussion or privately in a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
