Embed Youtube Video - Error 153

Hello,

Has something changed in Storyline?!

I'm trying to embed a YouTube video using "iframe".

I'm copying the embed code from YouTube, but it says 'Watch video on Youtube - Erro 153...'.

I used:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dqaN76shzJE?si=F_NwSZruLu5BJAU6" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Any/all help would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • Hi TatyZF,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble embedding YouTube videos in Storyline.

Using the same iframe you shared, I tested the playback on my end. After publishing to Review 360, the video played without issues in Google Chrome. Are you encountering this error after publishing your file? In Storyline, website videos cannot be previewed. They will only function after the course has been published. However, Storyline alerts authors with a generic "Web Video is unavailable during preview" message.

The Error 153 you're experiencing can be caused by network security or browser-level restrictions blocking YouTube's embedded player. Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    • View the published output across multiple browsers.
    • Try an incognito/private browser window.
    • Temporarily disable any browser extensions you may have installed.
    • Test the published output on a different network (e.g. a mobile hotspot).

If the video works in any of those scenarios, that would indicate a local network or security setting is blocking the embed.

Let me know how it goes!

I had this also. If you load up to Review then it seemed to work. Don't know where you are implementing but try that too. I loaded onto our test server and it worked. Seems to be an error in Storyline preview, even after publishing.

Don't know if a staff member can respond with what is supposed to happen.
