feedback master button states not being inherited by feedback layers
Hello All,
If I create a brand new project, and add a multiple choice question, and then look at the states for the Continue button on the Correct feedback layer, here’s what I see (notice the Down state):
If I go to the Feedback Master, and look at the states for the continue button on the Correct feedback layout, this is what I see:
As you can see, in a brand new project – having changed absolutely nothing – there is already a disparity between the Down state of the Feedback Master Correct Layout, and the Correct Feedback Layer it governs.
This disparity is highlighted if I change a state on the master, because the state does not get inherited by the layers – irrespective of whether the layers existed before I made the state change, or if I add a brand new MC question after I made the state change.
Here I have changed the color of the Down state on the Feedback Master Correct Layout.
When I create a brand new MC question and view the Correct layer, here’s what the states look like:
Am I misunderstanding something? Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

I am using Storyline 360 and am finding that text styles set in the Feedback Master are not propagating to the feedback layers in actual question slides. Feedback layers just have a default font for all text elements and don't reflect the text styles set in the Feedback Master. Is this still an outstanding issue or supposed to be fixed at this point?
Hi DLearning!
Sorry to hear you've run into this setback, working with the Feedback Master in Storyline!
Just to confirm, are you experiencing this issue specifically with the font styles set for Button States from the Feedback Master? If so, I can confirm we are still tracking the Storyline bug which causes this behavior. However, if you are not seeing changes made to the Feedback Title/Feedback Text, reflected on the slide level, do you mind sharing a copy of your .story file so we can have a closer look? Feel free to upload that here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Steven, the issue is with *all* text in the Feedback Master: Feedback Title, Feedback Text, Button Text. All text styles set in the Feedback Master do not reflect in slides' Feedback Layers themselves: all text elements in slides' Feedback Layers show they have the "Normal Text" text style applied.
I just submitted a support ticket with my .story file attached.

Hi Eric, Thank you. I have submitted a support case.
Thanks for sharing your Storyline file in a support case, Heather! Please expect one of our Customer Support Engineers to reach out to you shortly via email.
Hi Heather and Nicole,
I'm sorry for the trouble with the Feedback Master! We'd be happy to look at your Storyline file to investigate whether the issue is a recurrence of the resolved bug or a different issue altogether. Would you be comfortable sharing it privately by sending it in a support case? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

I have the latest version (3.85.31840.0) and this is still a problem. I used the screen recording and try it mode, and I wonder if that is why the issue still persists in this situation? Including a screen recording for reference of the issue. In the video, you will see that I deleted all other feedback masters, and the buttons are messed up. In the feedback master, they display correctly and states are largely the same. However, when viewing, the "try again" layer button has a different color font and both that and the "correct" layer have a different sized button. When manually selecting the text to try to change it (which I'd have to do on every slide, defeating the purpose of the master) it looks glitchy and the words jump to a new location.

Yep - this still happens to me as well.
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 71, we’ve included important fixes and new features.
We've included a fix for this issue:
The continue button on quiz feedback layers didn't inherit state changes, such as color adjustments, from the feedback master. To restore inheritance in an existing project, install the latest software update and reapply feedback layouts to the quiz feedback layers.
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!
Hi Kevin,
Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue. We are still working on the bug that causes changes made to specific states to get applied to all states. I just tested and can confirm that this behavior is still present in Update 3.68.28820.0.
I've added your voice to the bug report for the issue, so we can notify you as soon as a fix is released. For your reference, here's a quick look at how we tackle bugs.

Using Storyline 360 v3.68.28820.0. Tried changing text color on Feedback Master button hover state and it sets the same text color for all states. Can this issue (as well as the others) please be fixed or provide a suitable workaround. It seems this issue has been around for years which is very frustrating.

Same here. Thought I was doing something wrong and then for this thread. I would think it is safe to say that this isn't a low impact...seems like lots have/do experience this issue 8 years later.

8 years later, I still have the exact same problem on SL360.
