Hide YouTube Controls on 360 Rise Training Module
I'm trying to move my company over to Articulate from Captivate. However, a deal breaker is that I can't find a way to hide the YouTube playback controls when I embed them in the Rise module. I have the controls=0 added to the video link, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm trying to make skipping ahead using the timeline or fast forward unavailable as an option.
What am I missing or is this not possible in Rise? I am able to hide the YouTube video playback controls in Captivate, so I might be stuck using their eLearning app. Any help is appreciated! Sincerely, Albi
You need to do it from the embed option while you're still in youtube. Don't use the URL, use the "embed" option from Youtube when you select "share." Scroll down and uncheck the "show player controls" option, then copy the embed code and put it in the multimedia embed block in Rise. Keep in mind that you will lose the ability to turn on/off closed captions.

Thanks! Your proposed solution worked for me! I truly appreciate it. I embedded the captions into the video so losing that control did not affect me. Another issue, is that I don't want a continue button to appear until after the video has completed playing. The video file is huge, so I can't associate it with the training unless it's through a link to a service like YouTube, and then it would seem that type of link removes Articulates ability to track the video completion. Captivate allows for a timeline while creating the training module, so I can have the "continue" button appear after the video has run. When I publish the module, the video slide runs and then the "continue" button appears. Is there a way to do that in Articulate. Thanks in advance! I appreciate your expertise.
Hello Albi,
There isn't a way to track the completion of a YouTube video within Rise 360. This is because the video exists in a third-party platform, and there's no way to set up an event that monitors if the video has been watched in its entirety. The "Continue" button will only work with videos that have been added from a file.
The only alternative here is to add your video from a file. The maximum file size for videos that you can add to a Rise 360 course is 5 GB. If your video is less than this file size, then I recommend adding it directly to your course instead.
