Horrible quality when uploading images
I don't understand why the quality of images I upload is so bad in Rise. They look fine in browser, but when I upload (and Rise compresses/crunches them) they get fuzzy, pixly and unprofessional.
I upload i png, have also tried jpg - with much worse results. Any ideas? Attached an image showing what I see in Rise v. local browser.
Hi Viki, great question!
This workaround only works in Rise 360. Do you have a blurry image in Storyline 360? If so, share a copy of your file with us here, and we'll take a closer look at it!

Hi Alyssa, I tried this and there was no change in my picture quality. You can see it in the background its squished and blurry. I tried to change it from Image Centered to Image Full Width but it cuts off the top and bottom /: I have tried this both with my PC's built in program Snipping Tool, and an outside screenshot from Screencast-O-Matic. I opened a case as well.

Hi Ashlyn. Glad to see that you have a support case with us. I hope this gets resolved soon.

Hi there Renz,
Thank you - after I sent this I discovered the live chat feature on the support page and Hazel managed to get me sorted.
Looks like the _NOPROCESS_ tag needs to be duplicated at times for it to work, in case anyone else is struggling with this:

I really hope the dev team can get this sorted out soon. - LanceBCommunity Member
4 years and still no fix for this? _NOPROCESS_ MAY improve some images (slightly), but if there is text on that image, it is still unacceptable. We are getting close to dropping Articulate 360 for another program due to this issue. Please fix!

Hello. I am experiencing this issue when I upload screen shots or anything with text. What's the update on the now 3 year old "fix" that is being developed?

Hi all,
I am having the same problem with the image quality in Rise - does the _NOPROCESS_ workaround still work?
- YannickSchillinCommunity Member
Hi Articulate team!
I have encountered the same problem and discovered this thread and the workaround (with _NOPROCESS_ in the file name), which works great, so many thanks for this!
However, I still think that this is a problem that should be fixed after all these years, rather than just providing a workaround (which most people will never see – I've been noticing the bad image quality for a while now before finally stumbling upon this thread).
The solution seems straightforward: don't change the compression/format of uploaded PNG images to JPEG (which is for photos and will always perform badly on illustrations, screenshots, etc. which is what PNG is normally used for). So, just keeping the format of the original file would solve the issue, while still allowing Rise to optimise the file size.
Hope to see this fixed soon and wish you all a nice day!

Hi Yannick- I still cannot get my image to load clearer even with the add on into the name. It is in a PNG format and the title is "Capture_NOPROCESS_" I have tried the same with a .JPEG. What am I doing wrong?

I'm seeing this issue as well! We are using screenshots from our software product and attempting to upload them to Rise - they look great in our file browser and photo viewer, but they look pixellated in Rise. In some instances it might be related to Rise resizing them, but not in all instances.

I'm seeing this too with PNG format images. Has any progress been made on sorting this?
