Horrible quality when uploading images
I don't understand why the quality of images I upload is so bad in Rise. They look fine in browser, but when I upload (and Rise compresses/crunches them) they get fuzzy, pixly and unprofessional.
I upload i png, have also tried jpg - with much worse results. Any ideas? Attached an image showing what I see in Rise v. local browser.

I says 5GB, not 5MB, right?
Hey, Pamela! Good eyes! 5GB is the default maximum for all types of files uploaded to Rise 360, including video and audio files. A 5GB image file would be really, really large. :)
As we work through this issue, I'll update our documentation with more targeted recommendations.

Thanks for your feedback, Ryan. I want to let you know we’re aware of the issue and are working on a solution, but I don't have a timeframe to share right now. We'll keep you posted in this thread!

As I'm reading similar threads on this issue, this has been an issue for over 2 years. 2 years ago, some on staff was saying they're working on a fix. Is there really no fix yet? I'm hoping to use Rise, but I can't embarrass my department with really bad images. Can I use whatever method your developers are using to embed the default images?

Two years is quite a long time to be "working on a solution". My concern is that there's any image compression happening at all. Most stock images or screen shots are captured with appropriate image sizes as well as the proper formats.
Also, why are some of my original PNG images being converted to JPG? It's very random and I can't make sense of why this happens.
We need an ETA - two years is more than enough time for analysis and determining how long it will take to fix. This tells me Articulate has not prioritized this. The workaround takes HOURS of replacing images because the images are always named differently with each export, and some of those images are flipped to JPG (so I have to re-save my original image as JPG before overwriting the output image file). This compression workaround exponentially increases development time for a tool that's supposed to be quick and easy.
This now needs to be a priority. I have to make my team and VP aware as it may impact our future relationship with Articulate if they cannot pivot quickly to address big problems like this.
Please let the community know asap of the ETA.

Hello Crystal. I'd like to be added to the list of folks facing this issue and seeking an immediate fix. Both my videos and images look horrible and granular after uploading to Rise. It is very disappointing to see the final outcome.
Sure thing, Eveline. You'll get an email from support so we can have a closer look at your experience. If possible, use the upload link in that email to share an example image file that is giving you trouble in Rise 360.
Thanks for reaching out!

Hi all,
The _noprocess_ fix does improve the images a lot, but I still have an issue with Chrome displaying them not as clearly as it should when the image is zoomed to 100% using the 'Zoom on Click' option. I really need this as it's screenshots of a new system which has lots of detail.
If I right-click the image and open it in a new browser window, the image is displayed how it should be.
The images appear clearly using Microsoft Edge and Firefox. But typically, my client prefers Chrome.
Any suggestions would be greatly received.
Thanks.
Hi there, Barry. Could we get your permission to take a peek at an example image file for testing? If so, you can privately share it with us here. We'll delete everything when we're done troubleshooting.
If not, let us know the image file type, dimensions, and size. It would also be handy to know what version of Chrome you're using. We'll see if we can reproduce this behavior!

Hi Crystal,
I would love you to be able to help here, as I've always prided myself on the how clear my screenshots are when it comes to creating software training.
So to see the text in images blurry, it is very frustrating, as I have lots of system screenshots and most (if not all) are blurry in Chrome.
I probably need to ask permission before I share a Review link with you, so I have attached some images for now.

Hi Crystal,
Just so you know, I've tried PNGs, GIFs, TIFFs and JPEGs, and they are all blurry when popped up in Chrome.
Thanks.
Hi Barry,
I don't see that your image files came through, and we'd love to test them on our side. Could you please send those to us by way of this form? Thanks!

Did you use the _NOPROCESS_ filename fix?
