Not sure why anyone is surprised that this has never been addressed. Isn't that what we now expect from Articulate?
My suggestion is to draw what you want in PowerPoint, edit the points if you need to, then SAVE AS PICTURE and bring in to SL as a WMF file. Then you can import this to SL360, ungroup it and you can at least change the colours and outline.
To edit the points, you need to go back to PPT. - PeterJmtingCommunity Member
Hi, Please find a solution to edit points, its really a big minus - on the articulate storyline application that this functionality is missing!

Wait.. there is no way to edit a freeform shape after you have created it? It is available in just so many other apps, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. I want to be sure I am hearing correctly?

It’s only been 9 years that this has been under discussion. It’s still way too soon..

Indeed.

This should've been a feature built into the first release of Storyline 360.
+1 - an essential feature

+1 it's the year 2023 :)
*edit* What I actually need is an inverted "hover" hotspot... i.e. when the mouse hover is NOT in the hotspot, show/hide layer or something like that.

But, the ability to edit freeform (bezier or polygon) shapes seems like a basic ability that any app for "designers" should have.

Hi Anthony,
Once you have created a freeform shape, it is effectively baked and cannot be altered except by either changing its height, width or scale by grabbing one of the 8 click points that form a rectangle around the outside of the shape (see attachments). There have been a number of people, including myself that have posted about this inability over the years and, with no further updates on SL3, this is never going to be fixed. Whether this is different in SL360, I am unsure, but either way, if you want to edit any other points, the shape is best created in an external application, such as Adobe Illustrator, and then imported as an image. Hope that helps.

Chris, I appreciate your perspective and the workaround. I ended up creating a bunch of rectangles, setting transparency to 100%, putting them in a group, and then adding a trigger to the group. I realize that an editable free-form shapes feature won't make it into Storyline 3 and am highly doubtful that it will be implemented any time soon into 360. I mean, the original post was from 10 years ago! lol...
If we had better alternatives to Storyline I would 100% push my department to use a different software. As it is, I have heard that Captivate also has its quirks, so I have to make due with this marvelous piece of modern software. ;)- AnthonyDias-f2cCommunity Member
The group in the image (gray boxes with green outlines) is before setting the transparency to 100%... whenever the mouse hovers on the group, the layer is hidden.

Just asking if edit points on freeform shape is available - a decade after first asked for?
