Image color distortion
I am noticing a color change when uploading an image as the first block. I have attached a comparison between the image and what Rise is showing. Image is saved as a JPEG 1920x1080. When I upload other content in that first block then the image, it displays as normal.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for those additional examples.
It seems that SnagIt works whereas Snipping Tool did not? Could you look at using the SnagIt tool, while I let my team know about the difference in behavior? The only ones I noted where the color didn't appear correctly was the Screen recording versions.

Ashley - I really don't use the Window's "Snipping Tool" often, if at all, so I will stick with SnagIt. But the results were the same with both tools and from what I can tell the issue appears to be more of how much of the screen is captured vs. the tool. In my example of the web page in question, if I capture a smaller portion of the screen say 900 pixels X 600 pixels the color seems to be fine but as I captured more of the screen, say 1400 x 800 the color seems to degrade. The fact that it is hard to duplicate makes me wonder if it is a combination of the size, color and type of font used when captured at a particular browser size. Not a show stopper, so I am "pressing on" - Thanks again for looking into this.
Thanks, Bill. I didn't see any sizes indicated on your SnagIt images linked in that Rise course, but it did seem the majority of them captured the color, so I apologize if I overlooked the others.
I'll keep you posted here if my team determines any other info that would be helpful, but I'm happy you have a way to press on till then.

Ashley, sorry. I only put the size on three of the earlier screen captures. The size was listed in the caption of the image. But you are correct, for the rest I did not. Thanks for keeping me posted if any new arises - I'll do the same.

Is there any update on this issue? I just uploaded a PNG file of a screenshot that has green in 2 places. Every color shows up except the green when I import the image in RISE 360 in both the Image - Centered option and the Image with markers. The green is showing that a toggle is on, so having it show up as grey is not acceptable. I used SnagIt and the original image looks fine. Rise is distorting the color and turning the green to gray. Any ideas?

Well, I discovered a fix for me. I saved my screenshot as a JPG instead of a PNG and the green color stayed. So, I'm good for now.

I am having a very similar issue with the hue of blue being off once I upload into Rise. I'm using the same color code for Rise backgrounds as I am with shapes I create in Illustrator. when I export illustrator shapes to create effects, the colors don't end up matching. they are close, but it is noticeably different. I have tried exporting the illustrator file as every form of PNG & JPG I can think of & it always produces a different blue than what is in Rise. image attached for reference.

Hi Kyle, I'm sorry you're seeing this issue. We have this documented as a possible software bug, and we'll be sure to let you know here if we have any updates!

hi Lea--I'm wondering if you have any updates on this. no matter how I export the shape from illustrator, the colors will not match up with the background colors in rise.

I can't believe this is a bug that hasn't been fixed. I posted this 4+ years ago (3 jobs ago) and I am seeing it on the front page. I know everyone is busy and there are a lot of great updates happening with Rise and Storyline (everyone's hard work goes not go unnoticed) but geez. I am also seeing bugs and requests from 4+ years ago consistently on the front page still not being addressed or fixed.
Being honest, as an L&D professional, we are moving away from Articulate products because some of your competitors offer a much better product that allows for better collaboration and are web based. Even our LMS (and others we looked at) are really stepping up their authoring tool capabilities to the point where they are making our usage of Articulate products less and less valuable given the time necessary to develop. I really wish Articulate would add some of these features and fix these bugs that we have all been asking years for.

I finally found the best way to do it. Exporting for screens to an SVG file matches the color perfectly & the shapes come out very crisp.

Thanks for the info Kyle. Unfortunately we don't use Illustrator here. We use SnagIt to grab and edit our screenshots and SVG is not a file format that we can export. It's a shame that this still hasn't been addressed.
