Image loses ratio after replacing

I am inserting images in my elearning by replacing images that are already in the elearning. The existing images are aligned in the slides. A soon as I replace an image with a new one it loses its format and/or ratio. I work with previewing every slide I work with and then it isn't always visible. After saving the whole elearning this problem occurs too.

Can anyone help me with inserting/replacing pictures without losing alignment and ratio?

  • Hi nielshubers!

Sorry to hear you've run into formatting issues while updating images in Storyline 360!

When replacing images of different aspect ratios, some minor adjustments will be necessary. Are you using images from Content Library 360, or files you have stored locally on your machine? Using Content Library 360, I tested the behavior on my end, but could not replicate the same issue. My image ratios only changed drastically if I was replacing a horizontal image with a vertical one.

However, if your images are absent when previewing or publishing your course, it would be helpful to see a copy of the .story file you've been working with. Do you mind uploading that here in the discussion or privately through a support case, so we can have a closer look?

      Hi Steven,

Thank you for your reaction. I am using files stored locally on my machine. I will try to use content library to see if this is different.

I tried to attach 4 slides of the elearning, but paperclip doesn't work...

        Hi nielshubers!

You're welcome! Thank you for following up!

I tested this issue again, with local image files, but was still unable to replicate the behavior you shared. Sorry to hear you're having trouble attaching your .story file. I've opened a support case on your behalf, and sent you an e-mail with a link you can use to upload your file privately.

In the meantime, please try a repair of your Storyline installation to see if that improves the issue.

We can continue the conversation through your case to keep all information in one spot.
