Inserting template gets stuck every time?
I have a course where i have created block templates for reuse throughout the course. This worked one or two times, but now when I chose to add a block and pick my template from the block library, it inserts a "inserting template" section into the course and never finishes.
Funny thing is, I can preview the course and the content shows up. I can go and edit other pages and then come back to this page and sure enough, it's still "inserting template". Block templates don't work for me. What can I do?

Having the same issue here. The cancel function, visible or invisible, doesn't work anymore, The block is stuck on "Inserting template." Hopefully this can be fixed soon.

this is happening for me - I am NOT able to delete the block and retry it, have tried all solutions mentioned above

Hi Amy,
This method (link below) does work, I just tried a few minutes ago. Move the cursor to the top right corner of the stuck block, and move the mouse slightly until it changes to the hand cursor. Then click to delete.

It is interesting, as this still just happens randomly for me, the other place it randomly occurs is when I create a lesson and decide i don't want it, trying to get the cursor to change to a hand to delete can be painful. Sometimes I get my collaborator to do it. And this is in the latest version of Chrome. Wonder if the issue is connected.

In the hopes that this thread is still being monitored, it's also been happening to me all day. Unfortunately no amount of browser refresh is helping. I guess I need to open a ticket? I'm 'm concerned about response time as I need to get a review link out to client asap.

Hi Annie,
By all means, create a support ticket and see what response you get.
As this bug has been around for two years and getting worse over time, your best option IMO is to follow the suggestions and work-arounds provided by community members in this thread.

It's been happening intermittently for me--I'd say I have problems about 10% of the time. I can't cancel or delete the block. Refreshing/closing doesn't help.

Happening for me right now, and I'd really rather not rebuild the lesson from scratch. I've tried refreshing, closing and opening, and duplicating the lesson. Nothing seems to remove it. In the preview, it shows up as “Unknown type: pending pending” where I inserted the template.
