Is Articulate extremely slow after the latest Windows update?
Hi,
Is it just me? Or have other people had serious lag time using Rise and Storyline after the latest Windows updates?
Trying to get the preview to play, hitting spacebar, adjusting CC on audio and video files, and even just opening Storyline or Rise is taking really long.
I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with my laptop or a wider issue.
Thanks!

I am getting this issue too. It is soooo slow to open. and is stuck on the Reading Preferences screen.. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. It opened after 15 minutes but when closed the same thing happened again. I feel your pain mdhahm

I am having the exact same issue. Tried uninstall and reinstall with no luck; issue persists.
Thanks for sharing this update, mdhahm! I'm glad to hear that software updates did the trick.
KoltonWade-edbe, if you're still seeing this issue with the newest update then we'd want to connect you with our Support Engineers in a support case.

LaurenDuvall Update: The startup problem with "Reading preferences" step has come back again. Not sure why this is happening!

One thing I have noticed with the recent Storyline 360 update (2/23) is that when I start Articulate Storyline on my desktop, it seems to get stuck in the "Reading Preferences" phase for about 5 minutes. Storyline does get going, but it's taking longer than before.

I have started seeing this since the last Storyline update myself.

Quick update: Storyline is starting up just fine now. Not sure what the problem was, but there were a couple of other software updates these last few days that may have helped.

Do you have any missing fonts. I find on some machines missing fonts makes it run like a dog. Only thing I have left to help on this.

No, but I think it`s a Windows problem. Thank you for your advice. I appreciate it.

No real delay here. What does Task Manager say?

I was not smart enough to open Task Manager to see what it was saying. I`ll do it next time. I think it`s a Windows problem, though. Some random delays with Windows and Office are now occurring as well. Thank you for your advice.

No. I stopped doing that years ago. Not worth the headaches. I'm running Windows 11 on my company's Dell Laptop.

I'm not experiencing these issues at my end.
