Marker text box location

I am currently dealing with an image where no matter where I place the markers, when they're clicked the text box covers key elements of the image as well as other markers.

If the marker is on the right hand side of the image, the text box appears on the left, and if placed on the left the box appears to the right...so essentially it'll always open towards the centre of the image, which is where the most important part of the image is (and will be in most cases, surely?!). It also covers the other markers.

Why do I have no control over the text box size or location? Trying to work around it in Rise by putting the markers in odd locations is such a pain and it could so easily be solved if there was a 'show text box to left/right' edit option.

I know the work around is to build it in Storyline and upload it, but that sort of defeats the point.

I don't think there's a solution to it in Rise (unless I'm missing something) - how do I log a suggestion?

I also ran into this issue AndreaBorsoi-5e , and am developing a Theme Component to help avoid the unwanted overlap of the marker text and the image using an 'off canvas' ui for the description, for large screens only. Small screens/mobile still use the factory settings. Rise likely will not address this as its not a bug, just a UX issue.

  • I agree that not being able to position the text bubble on markers in Rise is a big drawback. In a case of a process image with LtR and RtL direction, they never end up in the right place and cover the next marker (in most cases), making most the markers impossible to click in sequence (inner < > navigation is not why one use markers). SL360 is better, but then.... one use SL. There may be technical reasons, but it is not at all smooth as is. Another of the plethora of changes requested years back and never even commented upon by developers.
