Markers - State Change Not Viewing Properly
Hello all,
I'm having an issue with the state change of markers not properly showing in preview and live online.
I've attached a couple of screenshots to demonstrate. When I'm in edit mode, the state shows correctly - a marker should change to a yellow check mark once clicked. However, when I preview and view the live product online, the check mark is white and looks chopped off in the marker circle.
I couldn't find another post with a similar issue reported, but if there's one out there already, please let me know. This issue looks like a bug to me.
Thanks!

I am having the same issue with markers. For instance, my normal state is filled white, with the icon and outline dark green. The hover state is set as filled dark green, with a white icon and outline. However, the hover state is not showing the icon as white, it is remaining dark green.
Hi, MeganYoung-3950!
I see you've connected with my teammate, Lianne, in a support case. You can continue troubleshooting there to keep all information in one place.
If anyone else is experiencing a similar issue, you can try deleting the marker and creating a new one to see if that resolves the problem. If not, please reach out to our team here or privately in a support case!

Hi Megan,
Yeah I tried your marker colours and found the same, weird... however I have added two pictures of how to get around the issue for you, let me know how you get on.

How is this still an issue in SL 360 eight years later, are there any plans to fix this?
Hi Deanna!
Sorry to hear you've also run into this behavior!
Our development team is closely tracking a bug that causes:
- Marker's Selected state doesn't change its icon color
If you're comfortable sharing your .story file, I'd be happy to take a closer look and confirm you are being affected by the same issue. Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Glad to hear you found a workaround, Steve! Thanks so much for sharing in this thread. I know it will be helpful for other community members!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or discoveries in the E-Learning Heroes Forum in the future!
Have a great day and happy developing!☀️

I have found a resolution, add a user state named clicked, and then add a trigger to set the state to clicked once clicked and it works. Sorted
Hi Steve,
Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.
The original issue posted in this thread was for Storyline 2, which is no longer supported. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can confirm the behavior? Please include which version of Storyline you're using as well as a brief description on how we can replicate the behavior on our end using your project file.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out, it is actually my colleague who is having the issue. We are using SL360 a corporate account. Unfortunately, we cannot share the file as it is for a customer so NDA and all that we can pass on.
But the issue as I described earlier is that the visited state doesn't show correctly as the hover state covers the icon.
I have added a screen clip of the marker states, you will see the visited state is a black circle with a white icon I. This turns black in preview and published modes, I worked out if I change the hover icon from black to white it will then show correctly....
Looking forward to hear from you, my colleague has about 10 markers on one slide and more throughout the scene.

OK this is still an issue 7 years on that is shocking! I realised that the issue is that the icon from the hover state covers the visited icon when clicked.... has there been any further investigation on why this is still happening?

Hello,
The original issue is still there in Articulate 360.
Will a future update resolve this ?

I have changed out the markers and I have implemented your suggestion regarding the condition on the trigger. THANK YOU! Have not tested yet but will get back to you ASAP about the results.

Articulate 360 issue.
I am having marker issue as well. One marker the purple one works as expected. The others do not. How do I fix this? Please help. See attached capture.
another Issue same slide: When using the PREV button to get back to this slide, after clicking on all icons (more than once), did not receive a NEXT button option.
Hi LaVon! Thanks for sharing that capture. I'll start with the second issue. The trigger to disable the Next button is going to fire every time you revisit that slide. If the states of those objects are already Visited, there isn't anything that's happening to change it back to Normal. Try putting a condition on the trigger to disable the Next button, e.g. IF state of any of Marker 1, 2, etc is Normal. That way, the trigger to disable the Next button will fire only if any of the markers is Normal.
It's hard to tell what's happening with the markers, though. Can you tell me a bit more about how you created the other markers and specifically what you're seeing when you test?
Hello Yael,
Sorry to hear you may be running into a similar issue.
This issue was originally reported for Storyline 2 and we do not have a similar bug tied to Storyline 360, so I'd certainly like to understand what you are seeing and a sample .story file as well.
If you cannot attach it here in the forums, you are welcome to share privately here.
