New Custom Rise Blocks not Appearing in Review
Here we are nine months on, and still an issue - custom blocks not appearing on the LMS. Ok in review, ok in PDF... not good enough. Too late when you've built a course only then have to come looking for answers as to why this isn't working.
Hi EJE,
Sorry to hear that Custom Blocks are not playing back as expected in your LMS.
I'm not able to replicate the same issue when testing a sample Custom Block in SCORM Cloud. Have you had a chance to test your LMS package there as well? If the course loads as expected in an LMS test environment, the issue could be LMS-specific. In which case, I suggest connecting with your LMS administrator so they can take a closer look.
However, if your Custom Blocks also fail to load in SCORM Cloud, it's possible that something else could be getting in the way. Was the affected course published as a Connected Package?
I ask because we are tracking a Rise 360 bug that prevents Custom Block audio/video from loading in an LMS if published as a Connected Package.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi StevenBenassi,
Custom blocks are currently not loading in our LMS either. Due to company restrictions, I am not able to test in SCORM Cloud as you suggested. Any idea if this bug expands beyond the Connected package? I don't have Labs enabled so do not have this option. We have previously used custom blocks in our LMS without any issue. Unfortunately, we have a course promised to our client tomorrow and are just running into this issue.

Hi MeaganMartini,
Sorry to hear that you've also run into this setback.
Outside of the Connected Package bug, I'm not seeing any open Rise issues that would impact Custom Block playback in an LMS. As I mentioned to EJE, Custom Blocks have been loading as expected when testing with SCORM Cloud on my end.
I understand your organization prevents access to the SCORM Cloud platform. Are you comfortable uploading your published SCORM package so we can test it on your behalf? If you prefer to share that file privately, please connect with our team through a support case.
In the meantime, I have some follow-up questions to help us troubleshoot this better:
- Do the Custom Blocks load when publishing to other formats, such as Review 360 or the Web?
- Do the Custom Blocks fail to load across all browsers, and does clearing your browser's cache make any improvement?
- When the course launches, do you see empty space where the Blocks should appear, or is there an error message?
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi again!
After quite a few downloads, I was able to finally get a version of the SCORM where the custom blocks loaded. Here is some additional information about what I was experiencing:
- Custom Blocks did not work when I published to Review 360, but did work when I published to Reach.
- They failed across all browsers and on different computers. Clearing the cache did not change the situation.
- When the course launches, it basically acts as if there is nothing there. I suppose that could be described as a blank space. There is not indication in the course that something was supposed to be there.
- In our courses, we are intermittently seeing a "Something went wrong" error with the custom blocks. After refreshing a few or more times, we can usually get them to kick through.
