New starting slide

Hi I have created scene a menu and lots of slides, then I remembered to insert the "welcome" slide.

I want the welcome screen to be the first screen shown which then triggers the call to the menu slide.

How can I make the scene start with the welcome? It keeps starting with the menu and the welcome never makes an appearance?

    Hi Sylvia

Have you tried dragging the welcome screen slide to the top of your scene in the 'scene navigator' column? That usually works.

Here's a video that shows what I mean, and hopefully solves the issue for you.

    Hi Sylvia,

There is an option to choose the starting scene:

    I hope it helps.

Is that all Starting Scene does? I saw this function (like the original poster, never paid much attention to it). I have always have my #1 scene as my starting scene. Does this button do something else? I am trying to figure out why use it vs moving my first scene to #1.

        Hi GCarletonFoster,

        Happy to help!

The "Starting Scene" button allows authors to set a course's starting scene without reordering scenes manually. It is handy for course authors who need to nominate a new starting scene in courses with plenty of content since adjusting the starting scene can be done with the click of a button.

  • Thanks, Stefan. I'd noticed that button but clearly never paid any attention to it. Thanks for pointing it out :-)
