Open ended questions in Rise
Hello,
I am considering Rise to build a Leadership training course. One of the requirements is to have fill-in-the-blank questions that are open ended i.e. there is no correct or incorrect answers defined. I tried keeping the Acceptable Answers field blank, but that did not work. Does anyone know if this is possible at all in Rise? That is, can users submit their answers (no word limit) without being told whether their responses are correct/incorrect?

An open-ended question or the ability to have a short discussion would be GREAT! This would allow people to share their ideas with each other! Currently, we have to link out to SharePoint for discussion questions. It works but it's not ideal.

Hi Anja!
It sounds like you want to design a question with no correct/incorrect answer. Rise 360 doesn't have a question like that right now, but thanks for letting us know what you need!

If you are looking for more feedback on open-ended questions in Rise 360 I will add mine. I would love a way of putting in these type of reflection questions in my modules.

I made a fairly simple Storyline that saves data in the inputfield to Google sheets. Works perfect.
In Rise it uses a 'dummy username' for testing, when published on the LMS the students name will be put into the Google sheet... The javascript code that sends the data to Google is simple, on the Google end you however need a cloud function that writes the data to your specific sheets/account. Hi folks. Check out this community solution for getting your learners' text entry responses into your LMS!

I'm going to add to this conversation--we wanted to include a question that they can pick any or all of the multiple response questions, since it's a "what's your favorite" type question; there is no right or wrong answer. I hope you'll add something like this in the future!
Hi there, Megan! Have you considered using a checklist block with all of the possible answer choices? Would you be providing feedback tailored to what was selected, or is there general feedback that would follow the learner's response?

Looks like this has been a request for the last year. Any updates on this? It seems like it would be fairly simple to implement and open-ended questions can be powerful.
Hi there, J V. No updates yet.

Thanks Crystal - I trust that that feature request has been brought up and have been followed up on due to demand.
Thank you!

Let me also say how useful this feature would be...my university policy does not allow me to use Google forms or survey monkey to capture student answers.
