PDF embedded in Rise kicks learner out of course
Hello,
I see this was an issue a couple of years ago that was marked as resolved, but I'm having this issue right now and I'm looking for assistance.
ISSUE:
Learner launches course. Learner clicks on embedded PDF. PDF download window does NOT open in a new tab; it opens in the same tab as the course.
This kicks the learner out of the course. Learner has to re-launch the course to get back into the content. This is likely to cause us a lot trouble tickets that I am hoping to avoid :-)
Anybody have a good fix?

I am currently experiencing this issue as well. I'm hoping this comment will result in support to address this error.
We've had two learners who have reported that when they click on a link in the course, they had to restart the course to get back in. Here's the feedback:
any time there was something to click on, especially something to download, I had to go back to the beginning of course in Workday and restart it (it did save my previous chapters). And this one for example, I now have to go back the beginning and start my course again. This prevented me from clicking on many items that might be useful as I didn't want to go through the process again.
Hi, CarolineOlfert!
Thanks for reaching out. I'm happy to help determine what's going on!
I have a few questions for you to get started:
- Does this only happen for those two learners? Does the course work as expected for other learners?
- Do the links open in a new tab?
- Have you tried testing the course in SCORM Cloud? If it works there, you may want to reach out to your LMS administrator for assistance. If the issue persists in SCORM Cloud, it'd be helpful for our team to test a copy of your file.
