Player progress bar and video progress bar are always start at the beginning when scrubbing

I am experiencing problems with the Articulate Storyline 360 Player (modern and classic) and the video player progress bar when using scorm courses in our LMS (SAP LSO).

The courses work fine outside the LMS (SAP LSO) on a simple web server and in a different LMS as well.

Bug description:

When I start a page in the course with audio and I scrub the progress bar, the player will restart the audio from the beginning - not caring about the position I scrubbed to.

When I play a natively embedded video in the course (no web object) the video player will show the same behaviour. The video will restart at the beginning when I scrub to any different position on the video progress bar.

Does anybody of you have an idea how to solve this problem? Thank you :-)

  • Hi JanVil74!

Sorry to hear you've run into this issue when viewing Storyline content through your LMS!

It sounds like you've already done some testing across multiple LMSs, but to help isolate this behavior further, I suggest testing the published output with SCORM Cloud. If the video playback works as expected when scrubbing the progress bar in SCORM Cloud, please reach out to your LMS support to see if something in their environment is getting in the way.

However, if the same issue can be observed in SCORM Cloud, please connect with our team through a support case. We'd be happy to take a closer look at your project file!

I am sorry, StevenBenassi , I know this "text element" you are posting on every second post here in this community very well.

I really had hoped I would get some answers regarding this special case from some community members or even your staff members here. The SAP LSO is very old and sometimes very special.

I am sorry to say, that referring to SCORM Cloud is not a solution in this case.

        Hi NicoWeber,

Thanks so much for reaching out. I understand how frustrating it can be when your course isn't working as expected. We'd be more than happy to take a look at your file. This will allow us to do some further testing and rule out potential causes. You're welcome to upload it here or privately in a support case and we'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.
