Pop ups not working
I have several existing storyline courses on my LMS that have been active for 2 years. Just recently (last 3 weeks) some of these courses have experienced "Continue" buttons not working on pop ups for knowledge checks and to resume course. Since these courses have worked for 2 years and we did not update any files, I feel this is a desktop issue or a Window Update issue that messed with the pop up blocker setting.
Using incognito window, different browsers, and changing pop up blocker setting has not fixed the issue.
Anyone else recently experience this issue?

Hello Randy,
Did you find a solution to this problem? I just found out it's probably a visual bug. If i take my mousecursor a few inches below the buttons into the whitespace, the mouse cursor changes to the little hand, and if you click than, the e-learning will re-open. I send a screencast of this behaviour to support this morning.
Best regards,
Tim
I appreciate you sharing updates on your support case and what is working for you so far, Tim! I'm sure Randy and other community members will find this helpful. We received your screencast. Please expect an email response from my colleague, Carlo, shortly.
Let me know if I can assist with anything else!

Hello Randy,
Encountering the same problem since around septembre. Over here it is also older e-learning with these issues (they still make use of the classic player). These e-learning modules worked fine in 2 different LMS for several years until recently.
First i thought it was a browser configuration issue, but our IT department ruled that out. I doubt it's LMS related, since the same issue arises in 2 different LMS. Learners tried different browsers and removing history/cookies without effect. The same issue also persists with users using their own devices, not connected to the company network. So i doubt that company security software is the culprit.
I am trying to get hold of a SCORM-package that has these issues, but noticed i only kept the storyline source files, so I am not having luck with that yet...
So far as i can tell, republishing and switching to the modern player fixes the issue (in Scormcloud this worked, we are now testing this in our LMS). The problem is reported to Articulate support through case #00927487.
Best regards,
Tim
Hi RandyBrown-62c0,
Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear you've hit this snag!
A few clarifying questions for you:
- What LMS are you using?
- Are your browsers are updated to the latest version?
- Have you tried clearing your browser cache?
- Do you have any new security software installed on your computer that could be causing this?
I hope this helps point you in the right direction!

Hi Kelly,
- We use Compliance Wire which as it sounds is heavily structured around compliant regulations
- browsers are updated
- we have cleared cache too
- I personally think new security software is the issue but I cannot get my IT dept to confirm. How can I explain to them this could be the issue?
Hi Randy,
Thank you for the feedback. One way to determine the cause of this issue, whether security software-related or LMS-related, is to try publishing the course in a test LMS with debug mode enabled. SCORM Cloud is a great environment that you can use for this purpose. Here's how to test your course on this platform:
Your IT department can check the debug logs to determine the cause of the problem. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
