Rise - Can you copy a block between lessons?
I made several lessons in Rise, and each lesson has multiple blocks. Is it possible to copy a block from one lesson to another? I found I can duplicate blocks within a lesson, and I can duplicate entire lessons. I'm trying to copy one bock of a lesson into another existing lesson. Thanks.

I appreciate that the team is working on this feature. I for one can't underscore enough how helpful it would be to have it and what a pain it is not to.
Great question! We're looking at early in 2018 for the ability to combine components from one lesson into another one. It's a feature still in development, so once we have more information on timing and specifics of functionality we'll let you know!

I think I have requested elsewhere that what we really need is a personal 'Blocks Library' that we can add content to from within any course and pull content from within any course. Am hoping that it's this kind of thing that is what is planned for early 2018? Also, categorising / grouping these saved blocks would be nice too!

Not bad idea, I have tried it and it did the purpose. It still a very important feature.
Since while review the course with SME and pilot users we often decide to change the location of a block and add it to a new lesson. So it is kind of a core feature
Thanks for that context, Soliman! I'll add your voice to the request.

Have there been any updates on creating an easy copy function? It seems to be a serious lack in functionality. The option to copy content from one lesson to another in the same course is a must-have.

Hi Jessica,
As mentioned above, this functionality already exists:

That's not at all what I or others are asking for. I understand that templates can be created and reused. However, what sometimes needs to happen is much simpler. Sometimes, I accidentally create information in one module/lesson and simply want to copy it to a different module/lesson within the same course. But I cannot do so. I can copy to another course entirely. I can make a template. But that's not what I need. I need a simple "Copy to another module" and/or "copy to another lesson". It seems the priority missed the mark when the "copy to another course" function was created, but there lacks a simple way to copy a section from one lesson to another within the same course.
I hear you--we're excited about this feature, too! No specific timeframe yet, but our team is working on a solution. It'll be available to you immediately after it launches!
We're adding new things to Rise all the time, so stay tuned. 😊
Hello everyone!
Just wanted to pop in and let you know that the new Block Templates are available :)
New: Build Rise courses faster by saving existing blocks and their content as templates, then reusing those templates in other lessons. And if you have an Articulate 360 Teams subscription, you can share templates with your team. Learn more about block templates.

Please let us know if you have any questions, we're happy to help!
Hi Karen!
Yes, you can absolutely move a single block to another lesson. For instance, let's say you have a Tabs block in Lesson 1 that you want to move or reuse in Lesson 2. To do that, you would use the Block Templates feature. Here's how:
- Open the first blocks lesson.
- Select the Templates category from the block library, then click New Template in the panel that appears.
- The sidebar will close and a check mark will float over each block in your lesson. Click the check mark for the block you want to include in the template you’re creating.
- After selecting the block you want to include in your template, click Save on the toolbar at the top of the page.
- Open the second blocks lesson.
- Mouse-over the location in the lesson where you want to insert a template and click the insert block icon that appears.
- When the sidebar opens, select the Templates category and click the template you want to use.
That's it! The blocks and content from the template immediately get added to your lesson.
Give those steps a try, and let me know if you need any help along the way!

I would still like to have a copy and paste feature. Any ETA?
Hello, Erika. No immediate plans for block copy and paste between lessons. Using block templates will be the way to go, here.
We'll let you know if that changes!

I would also like to add my voice to this. It's such a simple feature that should have been built around the same time the function to copy from course to course was made. Massive oversight and yet it would make creating lessons much more efficient.
Having to use block templates is such a long winded and inefficient process for what should be already available as a simple process for creators.
