Rise Flashcard: Card background color or image
Hello
I am wondering if there is a way to change the color of the flashcards themselves in Rise. We are wanting to use our company's branding and image on the flashcards (front and back of cards). Then we need to be able to write on the cards. This would be a nice feature to be added to Rise please.
At the moment, I can only change the card background to an image or text, but not both together.
Thank you
Sumant

Please can you tell me why the brand color line is now missing from the flashcards in Rise when you choose the text option for the front of the card. When you go to pick flashcards from the block they show with the custom set color line on the top of each but when they are actually added into the course they are now just plain white. Have I missed an update here where this was taken out? It looks so much better with the colored line. It is taking me more time now to create a brand color image with text in Canva to then upload as an image to the front of each card. See attached examples. Many thanks.
Hello AllisonRusso-59,
Good news! We just released an update to Rise 360 that fixes the missing line color at the top of the flashcard block. There’s nothing you need to install since web apps update automatically.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or if the issue still shows up on your end.

Oh that's great news! I just checked it and it's working fine now. Thanks so much for sorting this out.

Hi AllisonRusso-59,
Thanks for letting us know about this issue.
I was able to replicate the problem where the line at the top of a flashcard block is missing.
I’ve logged this as a possible software bug and added this thread to our report so we can notify you as soon as we have an update.
If you have any other questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to help!

I teach Rise, and my students ask for this feature. Please and thank you.

It's disappointing that this feature hasn't been added after 5 years. I hope it is on the roadmap this year.

I would also like to be able to edit the front and back colour of flashcards separately, when they have text in them. A UX designer has given me the feedback that this would help a learner distinguish when they are turned over.

I'd like to add my voice to this thread. Updating this feature in Rise to allow text and images on flash cards is important for assistive tech users. Thanks so much for making Articulate the most accessible authoring software on the market and for being open to the needs and suggestions of the community.

Having an option for image AND text on flash cards would be very helpful/useful for designing with accessibility in mind. I see that requests for this feature go way back, so I hope it is added to the feature roadmap soon.

Please add +1 for me, too, on this feature request. We need to be able to add text to a card with background. Alt text in its place is not good UX for access tech users.

Currently also working on a Rise course and started looking online here on how to add the colour, etc. to the flashcards. This seems to be a very desired feature - please consider adding this seemingly basic function.
I have tried making my own picture as people have suggested, however it seems to compress it and it looks blurry in Rise. Does anyone have tips on sizing/etc. for it to look clear?
Hi Phoebe,
Thanks for reaching out! The flashcard color feature is not currently on our feature roadmap, but we’ll update this discussion if our team decides to reroute.
Also, I’m sorry about the trouble with the flashcard image. To avoid blurriness and keep your image in its specific file format and not undergo compression, you can add _NOPROCESS_ to the name of your image file. It’ll upload and display exactly as you saved it.
If you require any further information, please let me know.

Only way I have found its to create a jpeg (with text if required) in the colour you want. edit flashcard so that you have a full image for the front and upload your jpeg

I would really like this feature. I have created flashcards with images that combine the text and and image, however this is really not a good option for accessibility. Even being able to change the colour of the background of the card itself would be helpful. You can change the background but not the actual card. Thanks for considering!
