Saving Bullet Point Formatting in Storyline
Hi - I need to use a particular bullet point format on each slide, where I need to select square bullets and a particular colour. This is easy enough to do, but involves a few mouse clicks and I need to do it A LOT, so ideally I'd like to find a way to save the formatting. Unfortunately I can't see any way to do this (I tried adding it to the slide master view, but it didn't work.)
Does anyone have any tips on how this can be done?

It would be great if we could create layouts with bullet points, paragraph spacing etc. just like we can in ppt and then apply the layout to the slide we are working on.

For the staff.... Here is what everyone is looking for (I think) ...

Yes and no.
From what I understood when reading this thread, and from my own experience, I want to setup the slide masters and on those masters, specify a bullet point style (colour, size, specific bullet shape/symbol to use as the bullet) and have that be saved into the created template. That way, whenever I click the bullet point or numbered list button, it uses the style as I defined in the slide master as the default.
Your idea seems to suggest I'd setup a bullet point style, and every time I want to use that, I'd have to go into the bullet options and choose the style. Now if your suggestion was to work in tandem with the slide master, that would actually be pretty neat. Then we could have multiple styles saved for use within a given project, more easily selecting alternate styles as we deem necessary. Yet, still have a defined default style that we had initially setup within the slide master template.
Kind regards,
Sam

Hi Sam. Yeah - they should work in tandem. Add the ability to define custom bullet styles is the baseline part. Add the ability to use a custom bullet style in the Master.
Then the user can create unlimited custom bullet styles as desired, set a default custom bullet style in the Master, and override the Master custom bullet style at the slide level using other bullet styles as needed.

Would love an update on this, changing bullets slide by slide is very annoying.
Hi Sydney!
Thanks for checking in on this!
I don't have any updates to share at this time as our development team prioritizes other features. Not to worry! I've included your voice in the feature report so we can notify you if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap.

I am new to Storyline and am appalled that bullets are such an issue. The amount of lost productivity over a feature that is Formatting 101 and missing in Storyline is inexcusable.

Yeah, I have faffed around with this issue for some time and just had another look on the forums to see if there is a fix. Pretty poor that it's still there

Really?? 7 years and your team can't come up with a fix for this. It is one of the most annoying things about using Storyline

Any update on this? Selecting bullet setting/style for ever instance is annoying.

This is so annoying - every, single time I create a bullet list I have to change bullet colour - why can't this simply be part of the Master or in Styles. Honestly it is a basic thing, why is it taking forever.
Hi Anne,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your comments on this feature. We'll be sure to update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap!

Bumping for visibility. I would rather have a template remember my bullet preferences than have to format it on every single slide I create. This seems like a fairly simple quality of life request.
