Shadows of elements flashing between layers

Hi all!

I'm creating a hover interaction where the user will hover over elements in a specific order to display callout boxes, with elements they can't hover over/haven't hovered over yet being grayed out. To do this, I'm using a new layer for each time they hover over a new element.

However, in preview and in Review, the shadows around the elements seem to quickly disappear and reappear again each time the slide opens a new layer (see video). This looks like a flash and I'd really like to prevent it from doing this without removing the shadows altogether.

Thanks!

  • It seems like there are too many redundant elements, specifically callout boxes, being carried over from the first layer to the last. This is causing the shadows effects to stack up, leading to the issue. I suggest turning off all unnecessary callout boxes and adjusting the layer properties to show other layers by unchecking the "Hide other slide layers" option in the layer properties. This should prevent the issue.
