Slides transition looks jumpy

Hi all - I am working on a project and having issues with my slides.  When it transitions from one slide to another it looks like it "jumps" or flickers.  I have ensured that all the pictures are the same size and in the same position on the slide.  I made sure there were no transitions built in.  I can't seem to figure out why its doing this.  Anyone run into this?

  • We did try adding the volume (although this was not a suitable work around as it changes the look of the player we want to use), and it still had no effect.

In the mean time we have had to remove the animation from the layer.

  • Thanks for giving that solution a try, Claire, and I'm so sorry for any headaches.

I promise we'll keep everyone participating here posted on any new information, and here's an inside look at how we tackle bugs once they're reported

If you're able to share the .story file, we're happy to take a close look to see if we can offer other solutions. If the content is sensitive, you can upload it privately here. We're ready to help!

    Hi again,

Any update on the jumping issue? I have the same problem, in the View mode steps. Have tried taking all navigation buttons out and every other suggestion I've found but nothing works. Our slides flicker frame to frame within the slide, not up and down. By this, I mean if frame 330 ends on slide 1 and has captured a drop down menu expanded, and slide 2 starts on frame 331 with the menu closed it flickers between 330 and 331. It's not only making our eLearning look cheap, sloppy and unprofessional, its very hard on the eyes and quite frankly dangerous for people with conditions triggered by flickering, such as epilepsy.

I have spent today testing and reworking an eLearning package to try and get to the bottom of this, or at least find a work-around that is effective as so far nothing suggested on any thread has worked for us.

We used the Modern Player in our most recent package and that's when the flickering started. We had also just updated the software and had put the flickering down to that. After much messing around, I have discovered everything plays fine, works perfectly and performs as it should when I switch it all over to the rather dated and ugly looking Classic Player. Interesting.

I'll now try and customise the Classic Player as best I can so it isn't as dated looking but perhaps this may give the Articulate engineers a starting point to investigate what the Modern Player is doing to mess things up???

  • Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing as well, Angela.

The issues tied to this conversation have varied from the navigation buttons to master slide size, but it sounds like you're running into something a bit different.

With your permission, I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.

    Hi Angela,

Did you ever find a workaround to this problem, as I'm still experiencing the same?

    Thanks,

    Simon

  • Hi Simon,

I just replied to a similar question here if you'd like to take a look and keep the conversation going in one location.

  • Hi, everyone.

I just wanted to share that we no longer see the bug reported where the slide blinks or jumps during Quiz Review if the submit button is disabled on Quiz Slides using the latest build of Storyline (3.61.27106.0).

If you're using the latest version and you're still experiencing this issue, please reach out to our support team through a case
