Storyline 360 alt text

I'm adding alt text to the images in the media library by going to the media library and selecting the image, adding the alt text in the box, clicking the apply to all, closing the media library and then saving the project.  When I open the project the next day some the alt text is not there.  This is a large project with lots of repeated images and I would like to add the alt text in the media library and not on each slide using the focus order.

Hi did you find a solution to this one? I'm having a similar problem. When I change the alt text on a text bo from custom alt text to default alt text (i.e. what it actually says in the text box), it seems to save fine fine and even publishes and screen-reads fine but when I save the project file, close then reopen, the alt text has reverted to what it was before. All other changes save properly.

Happens when I save on C drive, I have uninstalled and reinstalled storyline, I have tried importing slides into another project and have tried reverting Storyline back to the earliest version possible.

    • Hello Vic,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.

My colleague Kelly gave some great tips on troubleshooting issues related to changes not being saved in a Storyline 360 course. If repairing your Storyline 360 installation doesn't work, and you're already working locally, please open a case with our support team here to connect with a support engineer who can help check what's causing the problem.

I never got an answer. I had to add the alt text from the slide. I went slow, saved a lot and closed and got back in a lot.

I had to do the same :(

  • Hi DebraGarcia-d3e,

    Thanks for reaching out!

The Apply to All button is useful when applying the same alt text to an asset throughout the course. To make sure I understand correctly, can you please confirm this is what you're hoping to do? Does this with a specific image, or does it appear to be random? Additionally, you'll want to make sure you're working and saving the file on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive).

If you're willing to share your file or a screen recording of the steps you're taking, you can share those here or privately in a support case!

yes I want to add the alt text in the media library then click apply to all so it will have the same alt text every slide in the project with that image.  My project is on my c drive. It is happening at random. The alt text might also appear to be saved the next time I open it but some will eventually disappear.
