Storyline Blocks in Rise not working on webserver
Hi,
We have developed several Rise courses with embedded Storyline blocks (via Review), all built on the same structure. These Storyline blocks are used to integrate interactive videos. When we view the course directly in Rise, everything works perfectly. However, once the files are downloaded, the Storyline block doesn't work—whether we view it locally (on the C:/ drive) or on a web server.
This issue does not affect all Rise courses, only some of them. 😅
Here is an exemple working:
https://erasmusplus.presa.now.be/intelligenceculturelle/EN/1-fundamentals-about-culture/content/#/lessons/xAY8MtzpgNL3OI682Sc8jPuzIV7mm8U3
Here is an example not working:
https://erasmusplus.presa.now.be/intelligenceculturelle/EN/10-conflict-resolution-and-building-bridges-2/content/#/lessons/W_I5_TXrmmD3sDp5wuW3U6lRkjTkCwDn
Why isn’t the Storyline block working in this case? (this same course works fine here https://rise.articulate.com/share/M5Jmdnn3SerMTVrYUdkROapTG6YOSx2m#/lessons/W_I5_TXrmmD3sDp5wuW3U6lRkjTkCwDn)

Hi Nathan!
Thank you for your help.
I placed the files on another server to be sure, and I get the same behavior.
Comparing the folders downloaded from the Articulate cloud, I don't see any missing files on my server. On the other hand, it's true that in the video_ folders ending in .hls, I find .ts, .m3u8 files but no files ending in .hls... could the problem be coming from there?
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the playback of your Storyline Blocks, in Rise 360!
Great to see Nathan has helped get you started with troubleshooting. As he shared, it would be helpful to see a copy of the affected .story files you've been working with. I've opened a support case on your behalf, and sent an e-mail containing an upload link you can use to share those items privately.
After that, you'll be connected with our support engineers who will be happy to continue working with you on this.
We can continue the conversation through your case to keep all information in one spot.

The video files are those ending in .ts. You will probably need to open a support case with Articulate and share your project file. It's difficult for other users to guess what could be happening without access to the project and servers where it could be tested.

Hard to say from this end, but it seems like it may be some issue with (the existence of?) the video files (the .ts files in the .hls folders in the story_content folder). Maybe check to make sure that the video files are actually present on the server where this module is published. On the client side, these don't seem to be coming through except from the articulate Rise server version, which is causing the errors.

Are you sure the embedded module is working properly on your server, by itself? The direct link exhibits the same behavior as the Rise embed.
It generates some errors in the console. Perhaps there is some permission issue on the server side, or something is being blocked internally? The working example hosts the same SL module on Articulate's site.
Do you have another, perhaps more permissive site where you could host the SL module to test?
