Text Entry Questions
Is there a way to add a "wildcard" to a text entry so that as long as part of the entry is correct, it will accept the answer regardless of the rest of the typed in answer? For example, if I wanted a user to provide the answer, "Bob" and the responder answered "Bob Jones", I would like it to accept the answer.... obviously, I could add an acceptable response for that example, but if there are many acceptable responses, I don't want to have to try and think of all of them.
Thanks!

I wasn't able to see the example that Jonathan provided (just a white screen with music playing), but I'd love to hear a little bit more about allowing "Wildcard" responses as I have used up all the A-J that are built-in.

It may take a moment to load on a slower internet connection, Casey.

Hey Andrew, I did something along these lines for last year's Quiz Show Challenge, using Javascript to accept 'near misses' in Freeform answers.
If this is the sort of thing you'd like for do, let me know and I'd be happy to expand further.

Hi Jonathan,
We're looking to do some near miss type responses for our text entry free form answers. I took a look at your sample course and I think it might do what we need. Can you expand on the javascript and how you implemented it?Thanks so much!

Hi Natalie, I detail how I made this across four challenges. (#470 - #473). You'll also find downloadable prototypes there, too. Let me know if you have any further questions.
