Text formatting issues in table cell

I am seeing some bizarre behavior when trying to apply different text formatting in a single table cell. In the screenshot below, the second bullet in the first list that is strikethrough should be red. The middle paragraph should be completely green. The entire last strikethrough paragraph and bullets should be red.

I can successfully change the strikethrough text to red, but when I try and change the second paragraph the green, all the text in the cell turns green.

However, if I change the second paragraph to green first, I can successfully change the strikethrough to red.

Why does the order in which I change the colors make any difference here?

I have lots of tables to create with various formatting and don't want to waste time trying to find the right order in which to make the changes.

  • Hello amorrissen

Thanks for reaching out. I tested this on my end and cannot replicate this behavior when editing a single cell in a table within Storyline 360.

    • What version of Storyline 360 are you currently working on? Our latest version is Update 99.
    • What font are you using in your tables? Do you notice this same behavior if you use a different font?
    • Is this happening in any other project files, or just this one?

As a first step, I recommend a repair of Storyline 360. A repair can fix some erratic behavior!

If you still have difficulty modifying this table in Storyline after a repair, please share your .story file and a screen recording of this behavior in this thread or privately in a support case so we can investigate this behavior further.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

      Hi Luciana,

I'm using the most recent version of storyline (3.99.34516). The font is Open Sans and the issue happens with other fonts too. I have to use Open Sans in my project. It only appears to happen in the table cell. I can successfully format a text box as needed, and did that to overcome the issue I was seeing.

Importing into a new project didn't help. Creating a new table had the same issue. I will try a repair.

        Hello amorrissen,

Thanks for the additional information. Like Luciana, I too was unable to replicate the behavior. Here's the result when I tried to recreate your table:

It sounds like doing the repair is the way to go. Let us know if it fixes the issue for you!
