Text-to-speech

Can anyone tell me how to remove a text to speech that you have added. I have to change it and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get rid of what I have already done! Thanks

I think that what AnnemijnPERRIN means is that when you create tts, you have the option to generate cc. Now if later you want to keep that tts, but want to get rid of the cc, it is not possible to only remove the cc without also deleting the computer generated voice. I have the same problem.

    • Hi Ivo

Happy to share some insight on this!

In Storyline, it is possible to remove closed captioning, while retaining the Text-to-Speech audio. Here's how:

      1. On the Slide's Timeline, select the audio track that has the closed captions you want to remove.
      2. Navigate to the Options tab on the top ribbon.

               3. Click Delete under the Captions section. This will remove the closed captions, while                         keeping your Text-to-Speech audio intact.

Please let me know if you need anything else!

Thanks for your reply Steven. I did figurate this out on my own. The problem is that I have many slides with lots of TTS tracks. As you can imagine, this method will quickly become tedious.

Is there a way to batch delete cc?

        Regards

  • When you use text-to-speech Storyline creates an audio file that you can see in the timeline for the slide. To remove the text to speech, just delete the audio file in the timeline.

Another option is to right click on the audio in the timeline and select replace audio. Then select your new audio file. This option will import your new audo and preserve any closed captions if you created them when you created the text-to-speech.

I think you can also do the replace audio option in the media library instead of going to each slide individually but I have not used this method so can’t speak to how easy it is.
