Triggers not working in Scene 2

Looking at your slides it looks like JudyNollet is correct. You need to go into the slides and change your setting for "When revisiting" to Reset to initial state to reset the slide when they try again.

You're welcome—though I'd say Eric did the important part. I prompted you to upload the .story file, but my guess about what might be wrong (needing to reset a variable) was wrong. His troubleshooting on the file provided the answer (reset states), so I'm glad to see you marked his reply as the solution.
