Triggers with draw from question bank

Hello,

I'm currently working on a project with several question banks and draws in various scenes.

I have several scenes with just a question bank draw so that I can number the questions properly with the Scene.SlideNumber and Scene.TotalSlides variables.

My problem is that I'd like several things to happen when I leave the slide/scene of which are put Scene.TotalSlides in another variable and change a variable to a specified value.

I tried putting triggers on "when user slides/clicks on next" and other things but to no avail.

I do not know if it's even possible as I'm out of ideas.

Thanks,

Anthony

  • Hi,

Thanks for the answer and sorry for the delay.

Here's an attached file as an example which suffers the same issue as I'm facing with my definitive file, you'll find a bit more detail of how I want it to work in scene 6 (notes).

What I'm currently struggling with is the updating of some variables on question pulls slides, for example I'd like a "chapter" variable to change after the question pull is complete, I haven't found a solution for that so far.

I also noticed that retaking a quiz keeps the previous answers despite reseting it, I may be doing something wrong there too.

Don't hesitate to ask if there's anything unclear in my file.

  • Hi Anthony,
    Thanks for reaching out!

If you're referring to Storyline 360's built-in variables, you can't prevent them from changing values since the course controls them. Is this behavior part of the problem you described? Please share more details if I didn't understand your inquiry correctly.

It would also be super helpful to have a copy of your *.story project file so we can see what you're trying to set up. If you're willing, you can post it here or privately by opening a support case so we can check your triggers and possibly share some recommendations. We'll delete it when we're done testing!
