Video on Storyline slide stops playing when viewing in Review 360
Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue. I have a Storyline course that has an mp4 video inserted on a slide. When I preview the course in Storyline the video plays fine without any issues. When I publish the course to Review 360 and go through the course, the slide loads and the video starts to play and then abruptly stops. I can't rewind and start over, can't fast forward...nothing.
Anyone else run into this? Is something going on with Review 360?

I'm currently working on a course that also has an *.mp4 video in one slide, but it's not giving anyone within my review circle any issues. One thing that I did was to set the slide to play automatically, though, so perhaps that makes a difference; I also hide the progress bar in the player (but I doubt that this has any effect on what you are seeing).
Try having someone (or two) access the review file once again separately. If it continues, I would put in a ticket, though it may be the result of something in your organization's IT firewalls.

Thank you JHauglie . The slide is set to play automatically and the progress bar is hidden. I did also have a couple other people test it and they are experiencing the same issue. Funny thing is that we haven't encountered this issue in courses prior to today and have done the exact same setup.
I did submit a support ticket. I'll update this post if there is a resolution.- KellyAunerStaff
Hi JulieAult1,
I'm glad other community members could give you some tips!
I checked our system and can see your case is with our Support Engineers. You'll be hearing from them shortly!

Had this exact head-scratcher before. Works in preview, stalls when hosted — that combination almost always points at the video file's encoding, not at Review 360 itself. Preview plays from your local drive, so bandwidth and streaming never come into play.
The giveaway in your description is the broken seeking: can't rewind, can't fast-forward. That usually means the MP4's 'moov atom' sits at the end of the file instead of the front, so the player can't jump around or recover gracefully from a stalled download. Run the file through your encoder with 'Web Optimized' checked (HandBrake calls it that; other encoders call it faststart) — it moves that index to the front of the file.
While you're at it, check the bitrate. A 4K or very high-bitrate screen recording will play fine off disk and choke over a normal connection. 1080p around 8-10 Mbps is plenty for training video.
Quick way to confirm the diagnosis: if the re-encoded file plays cleanly in Review, it was encoding. If it still stalls, try the same link on a different network (a phone hotspot works) to separate an encoding problem from your organization's firewall or proxy — JHauglie's right that org IT is the other usual suspect here.

ronald-hicks thank you so much for this information! What's really odd is that the videos all worked just fine in Review 360 a week or more ago. No issues until yesterday.

That's a useful clue, Julie — if the same files played fine in Review 360 a week ago, I'd deprioritize the encoding theory and look at what's changed around them: your organization's network, a proxy or firewall change, or something on Articulate's side. The phone-hotspot test from my comment above is the quickest way to check. Definitely keep the support ticket open and give them the "worked a week ago, broke yesterday" timeline — that's exactly what they'll need.

I am having abrupt .mp4 issues too. Multiple projects now, only post-export, not in Storyline or Review 360. I exported as SCORM and Web, both having issues of a forever loading page on the MP4 slide. Started last week. I'm wondering if you got a resolution from support?
