drag-and-drop "dragged off" needed
Aug 07, 2012
I'm creating my first drag-and-drop slide. Here's what I want to do:
1. I have 5 objects that the user can drag onto the same drop target (an image of a monitor).
2. Each time an object drags onto the monitor, a specific layer appears with info about that object.
3. When the user drags the object back off the monitor, the layer should hide.
I got it all working except for number 3. It works if object 1 is on the monitor and you drag object 2 on. But what doesn't work is if you drag object 1 on and then drag it back off again, I can't get the layer to hide.
I've been looking for a way to hide layer if the object is dragged off a target, but that doesn't seem to be an option... only dragged on or dragged over. I tried creating a transparent shape around the drop target and use the dragged over trigger to hide the layer, however it didn't work.
Any ideas on how to make a layer hide when the object is dragged off the target?
Thank you!

I got it to work using the method I described; however, the transparent shape doesn't work. The dragged over trigger doesn't recognize dragging over a transparent shape. I changed the fill of the shape to white, and the dragged over method worked.
It should recognise transparent, I have had this working on a number of occasions.
Can you confirm you right click and change the slider, instead of setting no fill, no storke
Thanks for pointing that out, Phil. I just tried actually changing the surrounding background image to transparent and it did work. I had tried making a background image with no fill and no stroke and that did not work. I had assumed that's the same as transparent. Live and learn. Thank you!
