I'm running some tests to confirm the usability of Storyline courses rendered in HTML5 on a SCORM-compliant LMS. So far, I am confused by the EXIT tab not rendering on HTML5/iPad.
Is this a known issue and is there any work around?
To be clear, the problem isn't that the trigger isn't working. The EXIT tab isn't rendering as shown in the following image. Viewing the same course using a desktop browser, the EXIT tab shows just fine.
Perhaps this is operator error? I couldn't find an EXIT tab option when publishing the course, so I added it as a "Topbar Right" EXIT using the Player Tabs dialog (snapshot of that follows).
Viewing the same course on my desktop shows "EXIT" in the top-right corner of the skin, but not in iPad Safari.
Our programmer wrote some sort of magic code where he places an a css link over top of the player when it plays on our website, but otherwise, we have not been able to find a fix for this problem either.
Great! However it does appear to me that there is more to this than just the player's Exit button. Even if you use your own custom button for an Exit trigger, it appears from the debug window that the function ConcedeControl() in API.js is never called, so you can't have any control over how the course is closed.

Hi Sam,
Here are some known issues with the Exit trigger in Storyline. Have you had a chance to install the latest version yet - Update 1?
Yes, I am running update 1.

Hi Sam,
I can't replicate your issue on my end. Can you send me a copy of the .story file for me to test? I'll private message you.
If you can't send me the file, try resetting your current player (Player > Current Player > Reset) and republishing your file.
For some reason, Safari is crashing the tab that opens the course now. Every time. I've power cycled the iPad, cleared the cache. Nuts.
The course works fine on my desktop.
Sent you a PM to download a zip of the story file.
I see the same issue with "Exit" not appearing in the player in HTML5 output. Works fine in Flash.
We have that same issue!!

Hi everyone,
The issue will be resolved in the next update to Storyline.
Thanks Brian! Looking forward to it!

Will this also be addressed in the next update?
Thanks!
I am facing the same issue. The custom tabs were the core part of the courses. Stuck at this point.
Any clue when can we get the update?
Thanks.
Hi Shailesh,
Our next update will be released soon, and I'll update the thread once it is. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi Peter,
Yes, this does resolved in the new updated version.
Thanks,
Shailesh
Thanks for the bump, Shailesh! Here's the latest update, Update 2.
Thanks Sam, Shailesh, and Peter. I'm downloading the update now. This is a critical update, so you made my day.
