Do you have the quiz properties (or those individual slides) set to "Reset to initial state" or "automatically decide"? If you're able to share your .story file here with us I'm happy to take a look, and if you need to share it privately you can do so here.
For the quiz, I have the slides set to 'Automatically decide' and in the player properties I have 'Prompt to resume'. (I don't understand the flash cookie question though!)
Are these the settings I should be using in order to resume the quiz every time?
You may want to change from "Automatically decide" to "Resume saved state" on the slides. Automatically decide allows Storyline to decide, and sometimes you'll want to ensure that the behavior is acting exactly as you'd like. The Flash cookies part is about how your LMS is going to handle the resume behavior as described in this article (and copied below):
If you choose Always or Prompt, and if you'll be hosting your content in an LMS, do one of the following:
If your LMS supports bookmarking, mark the box labeled When running in LMS, ignore Flash cookie. The LMS will control resume behavior in this scenario.
If your LMS does not support bookmarking, uncheck When running in LMS, ignore Flash cookie. The Flash cookie will control resume behavior in this scenario.
I'm happy to take a look at your settings as well if you'd like to share it here in the forums. If you prefer to not post it publicly you can also share it with me here.
Thanks for that. I will set them all to 'Resume saved state'. Is there to do this globally for every quiz? Or presumably I have to go into each quiz and select this option. (I'm working on lots of quizzes that we imported from Quizmaker so any way to make the process quicker would be great!).
I checked with the technical team, and they said we're not using LMS so should I check or uncheck the box?
If you'd like to update the slide properties for multiple slides at once you can do some from within Story View, you'll be able to click on multiple slides, and then fix the slide properties for more than one slide in the bottom right corner of the slide properties.
If you're not using an LMS, where will you be hosting/deploying your quiz for users to access it and track results?
I have another issue which I have posted in another thread but haven't heard anything yet. Just wondering if you knew the answer on how to get rid of the green lines that appear around possible answers for questions where the user enters text? see thh attached image.
Those boxes are a default to the Quiz Review on a Fill in the Blank question where there is more than one possible answer. I've seen examples of customizing the review feedback - but not removing those green lines. You could always submit a feature request to have them removed.
The problem is, if we have an image on the review screen, the green lines then go across the image, obscuring it.
Ideally I need to get rid of the lines completely. But if this isn't possible yet, am I able to set it so that the green lines go behind the image, and therefore not obsure it?
The only way to get rid of them completely would be to disable the showing of correct/incorrect feedback on quiz review (from the Result Slide Properties, you can uncheck the box for "Show correct/incorrect feedback responses when reviewing"). You could still customize your own feedback, as described in the tutorial before.

Also, just to be clear we are publishing the quizzes to be used on the ipad.

Hi Ashely,
Great, I'll give that a go, THis is the response to the LMS question:
"we are hosting the quizzes within our website and right now not tracking any users or recording any results we use the quizzes as self help tool"
Thanks
Helen
Ah, thanks Helen - this whole time I was worried you needed to track it - but with what you have now, you should be all set!
Great! So should I tick or untick the LMS box? Should I untick it as we're not using LMS?
or maybe it doesn't matter?
Hi Helen,
It shouldn't matter - and you'll want to follow these directions on publishing to web.
Perfect, thank you!
