Is there a file size or time limit to videos that will import to Storyline? I would like to import MP4 videos that were edited in another program - but these are sometimes lengthy and large in size. Also along the same lines, is there a limit to the length a Storyline project will publish to?
Don't recall a limit to a project--though I'd keep things as short as possible for most learners.
If possible, I'd try to import the source video for the MP4 and then let Storyline convert to a MP4. The Articulate wizards have done some amazing things to compress videos down in the MP4s they create.
Content preloads so if the video is still pretty large after Storyline does it magic, I may not have the video shows on any of my first few slides to let it preload to memory.
Thanks for your replies! I'm looking to create interactive training videos that include several screen captured videos that could be about 5 minutes each in length. I would need to import these videos rather than capture them straight within Storyline because I need to edit them extensively first.
I haven't seen a real limit for file size or even video import size - but the file you posted shows an error message about not being supported. Have you tried converting the original video file using something like Handbrake or Format Factory to convert it to the H.264 codec?

I think you may find that your videos work fine unless they are just obnoxiously long. Storyline likes MP4.

Hi Chiara,
I've used a 2hr video with storyline with no problems at all. I'm pretty sure there isn't a limit.
That's fantastic news! Thanks for the reply!
My limit was 1.2gb before it began to scramble the video a bit, but then Arlyn fixed it
Good advice above from Ron - do not have videos that are "...obnoxiously long..." :D

Thanks for the tip, Bruce. What did Arlyn do to fix that issue you were having with larger videos?
Magical beta-release things!

I know this is an old thread but i'm unable to insert an MP4 video that is 2.15GB.
Pardon the pun but does size matter??

Thanks Ashley.
I took the easy way out and converted the MP4 into an FLV, which scaled it down to 1.22GB but it worked and looks good.
I'll keep those website in mind for future though.
Thanks again!
Thanks George!
