Automatic Syncing

Hello! I just started using the Localization free trial in Storyline 360, and I’m running into a couple of issues:

  1. Element changes sync across all languages
    • For example, if I adjust the French text-to-speech settings, it also updates the TTS for every other language.
    • Likewise, if I resize a text box in one language, it resizes in all of them.
Is there a way to stop these changes from syncing across all languages without having to add triggers manually?
  2. Syncing sentences to audio
    • Aligning the imported audio with the corresponding text in each language has been difficult.

Any insight on how to resolve these issues would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

  • Hello AnhNguyen-7fd94

Thanks for reaching out! Glad to know you're exploring Articulate Localization in Storyline 360!

    1. I want to confirm that what you are experiencing is expected behavior in Storyline. Only text is unique to a specific language. Other changes like moving objects, adding objects, or changing TTS will be reflected across languages, no matter what language they are made in.

    • One workaround you can implement for modifying TTS in one language but not the others is using states and triggers based on the language variable

    2. You mentioned having difficulty syncing sentences in your course to audio. Do you have cue points included in your timeline to mark slide elements? Perhaps that can help with adjusting synchronization across languages.

Feel free to share your .story file in this thread so we can take a closer look at your setup. I'll also open this discussion to our community so folks can share recommendations for what has worked well when syncing their translated text with imported audio.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
