Multiple Storyline Files or One?

Hi!   Question: do you want each module to track separately?  Are we talking SCORM or AICC?

Depending on the LMS, you normally cannot launch one SCORM module from another and still have tracking or have separate completions recorded.  The modules often have to be launched separately from the LMS interface itself so each can track separately.

If your LMS can support multi-modules (SCOs) then I'd create a SCORM 1.2 package of individual Storyline courses (each individual course would be a module).  Unfortunately, Storyline does not support creation of multi-SCO courses inside of Storyline (be nice if it did :) ).  You need a third-party app to do that.  I recommend Simple SCORM Packager.  It has a cost but it's the best that I've found.

Also, as an option, some LMS's let you attach more than one e-learning module to a course and that simulates one course with multi-modules.

Great.  Thank you.  Was trying to have someone help me and develop as separate modules.  Only thing I notice, when I bring slides from one to the other to consolidate, stying gets messed up or not preserved :0(.  I also notice same thing on Feedback Master when I set styles for quiz feedback etc, but that is another issue I am trying to deal with.

No problem.    Just spread the love by helping folks out here in the forums and keep asking questions.  You may ask something that someone else can benefit from.

One hint with Simple SCORM Packager (SSP).  Make a project folder for it.  In the folder, insert your individual published Storyline SCORM 2004 courses in their own subfolders underneath.

You can also download a trial version of SSP--unfortunately, you can only package up multi-SCORM modules 10 times with it before it stops working.  At very least, you can try it out.  Not the user friendliest of programs at times but it works.

Is it safe to assume that this would still work if I publish Storyline as SCORUM 1.2?

I'm trying to get a Published Storyline course with its seven scenes to show in a Moodle LMS as seven individual modules instead of a single module (as they now appear in the Moodle table of contents).  I can only imagine that the whole point of having individual scenes in Storyline is to preserve that form when you publish to an LMS. So am I correct in reading that if I publish each scene as a separate Scorum Package that I can compile these using SSP into one "course" that will track and show as separate modules in r moodle?

It depends on the LMS and if they support multi-modules or not and, if yes, how they display the individual modules.  I've done multi-modules in AICC, SCORM 1.2, and SCORM 2004.

Most of experience was with Saba LMS's.  I'm not that knowledgeable on Moodle.  I've looked at it and have it running on my Synology NAS but I've not played with it yet.
