If you have text set to Line Spacing of 1.5 or higher, but then add a variable (e.g. %varFirstName%) to the text, it removes the lines spacing (resets it back to 1.0) ... the result: diminished readability. :(
Our feature request form is here, and our support request form is here. This feels a bit more like a support request to me, so I'd recommend submitting it there. If we find that it's a software defect, we can escalate it to QA for resolution.
Please let us know if you need anything else. Thanks!
Thanks for submitting a Support Case. It looks like John Say has taken ownership of your Case, and I will certainly keep my eye on it as well. Thanks again!

Any resolution to this? I'm having the same issue. Thanks.
When you add standard text and variables references to the same text box, you may find that it always uses single line spacing when previewed or published—even if you selected a different line spacing value. This is a known issue. You can avoid this behavior by placing variable references in a separate text box.

Good morning, Henry.

Thanks for checking in!
Just wondering if there was any resolve to this bug as yet?
Hi Mark! I checked on this and it is still in our QA department, so no resolution at this time.

Hi Katrin!
This article would still apply to our variable references.
