you can add numbering manually on every slide (but it's not convenient when you insert a new slide somewhere among existing). The solution would be to create a variable, set it to 1 on the first slide, and a trigger to your next/previous buttons to increase/decrease the numbering depending on which button was clicked.

Alternatively you could easily add the numbers to inbuilt menu, if you are using one:
