Pass/Fail results - Print

Sep 19, 2011

I want my users to be able to print the results of their interim quizzes to use as a study aid for their final exam. I modified the Pass/Fail Results and checked the box "Allow users to print results" (they are also to email results to our LMS). I tested the print function and the only thing that appeared was a heading Date/Time...no question or answer detail.

Is this operator error on my part? Please send help

Hi Jane,

If you enable print results but do not allow a user to review a quiz, they will not be able to review their questions and answers when they print results. This is by design. If you wish to allow a user to review their questions and answers when they print results, please see:

Hi Peter,

I have now solved the printing of results – it worked when I uploaded the SCORM module to our LMS system.  Two  supplementary questions, however:

·         Is whether it is possible to edit the results page – changing this ...

·         Is it possible to edit the dialogue box when you select ‘Submit all’?  It seems to take quite a time and I’d like people to know that it is preparing the answers to stop them clicking things furiously!

I still can’t get the results emailed, however.  I have found this screenr https://player.vimeo.com/video/148893859 - I was just trying to follow it when you emailed but I have no idea if it will work.

By way of background – I want to create a module where people are given some information and asked a question to which they will write some response.  At the end of this process, I want them to be able to print it out (the format I illustrated above will do) or, preferably send it to someone (if it could be themselves then that would be fabulous but I expect that’s pushing the boundaries too far)

Any help will be gratefully received as I’ve been grappling with this for a couple of months!!

Many thanks,

Lynne

Hi Lynne,

The good news is you CAN customize the print results page, however it is not supported by Articulate. Here's a link that will help you with that: http://daveperso.mediaenglishonline.com/2009/03/11/customizing-the-printed-results-in-quizmaker-09/

For the second part of your question, you can change the Submit All dialogue box to something that alerts users to be prepared to wait a bit, by clicking Player templates -> Text Labels, and then entering your desired text into the appropriate field.

As far as issues with emailing the results, have a look at this troubleshooting article:  http://www.articulate.com/support/quizmaker09/kb/?p=181

Let me know if you have further questions, and good luck!

Hi all,

I am quite confused at the moment.

I need to allow user to print their results of a quiz inserted as slide in a presenter course.

Which parameter are correct to allow this? I checked boxes in Pass Result and Fail result like visible in the attachment.  And then I added the quiz through Powerpoint->Inser Quiz as Slide.

I published the course as Web, but when I test it and try to click "Print results" nothing happens. I am using IE 10, but I tried with IE 8 as well. On Chrome, after enable popup, a report.html opens and I see my result and with right click of the mouse I could print it. But is it the only way to achieve a print results? Anyway my client has IE and it should work on IE!

What did I forget? How can I manage it?

Thanks a lot.

Hi there Silvia,

I believe this is happening because you're testing local published output files. Try uploading your course to a web server, or LMS, then try using the print options.

If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks!
