I need for my course to stop/pause automatically at a certain point (ex. after 10 seconds pause) in a slide. I don't want the student to have to click a Pause button. I've found numerous posts about how to do it with a button but can't find a way to pause the course or slide automatically at a given point on the timeline.
I think I would have my timeline be 10 seconds long. Then after whatever you plan next, have the slide continue on a layer.
Or, you could have a layer come in at 10 seconds, and set the layer option to "pause the timeline on the base layer." To have a layer come in at a particular place in the timeline, set an object (rectangle) off stage to start at 10 seconds. The set a trigger to "Show layer when timeline begins on Object." The layer can hold your next action.
I've attached a story file with the triggers and layer set up.

Thanks so much! I'll give it a try
