previous/next button on feedback (URGENT!)

Jul 27, 2012

Hi, how can I remove the previous/next buttons from the feedback screen?

I have already unchecked all the slide navegation controls in the story view, but they continue appearing when i see the feedbacks.

Help me!

Hi Alan,

Can you clarify for us where you are trying to remove the previous/next button from?  The correct/Incorrect feedback screens are layers and only have a continue button on them.  Are the previous/next buttons showing on the player when you preview or publish?  Perhaps you can attach your file or a screenshot of where you are having the trouble so we can better help you solve it.

Hi Alan,

First, I am assuming that you are using Storyline - please let us know if you are using Articulate Studio.  Since the feedback layers do not come with previous and next buttons on them, someone had to add them, so they they should be easy to delete.

Just go to each question slide and click on the "Correct" layer.  What you see on the layer is editable, so you should be able to select the buttons you do not want and delete them.  Make sure that you check your trigger panel too to make sure there are no triggers left that you do not want.  Do the same thing for the Incorrect layer.   Here's a screenshot:

It is possible that the previous and next buttons were added to the Feedback Master.  To get to the Feedback Master, click on the "View" tab, and then on the Feedback Master tab.  You can then find where those pesky buttons are and delete them.  Here's more screenshots:

I hope that was what you were asking!  If not, or if you are using Articulate Studio, let us know.

Hi, Im using storyline, but ive already done this too. The buttons are not appearing where you are showing in the images, they appear on the right bottom of the screen. But they only appears after I answer some question, and then back to this questions again using the custom button that i created.

Did you see the video I attached?

As Jill says the previous and next buttons are on the slide not by layer, any chance you can post your file it would be much easier to diagnose what is wrong.

Or just one of the slides with the problem would do.

Is it because you have a results slide set to review, not sure why but this might add in navigation buttons, as I say the file would make it easier

Hi Alan,

I can't tell from the thread above but would it help to remove them by slide and have it advance automatically? From the slide properties you can uncheck (turn off) Prev and Next.

They are already unchecked, but I as said, the buttons only appears after i back to a question slide that had the answer submited.

I can replicate this, I do not have a solution for some reason it adds the buttons in when you go back.

Sorry I think this needs reporting as a bug!

How can I report it as a bug?

Small "Report a Bug" button @ top-right of Storyline application page.

Hi Alan,

Sorry this is still a problem.  Here is the link to technical support: http://www.articulate.com/support/contact/submit.php.  You will get the most help from them if you upload your .story file when you submit it.

Hi, I cant do it now because I dont have a serial number yet. My boss sent the request to buy the software, but it still hasnt arrived.

Do you know where the bug button is? Is it inside the storyline software or in its website?

Hi, Alan -

Take a look at the attached file. Is this what you were thinking about? This works for me. I needed to hide the submit button as well as the back / next buttons to make it work. I conditionally showed / hid a custom back / next and submit button. It's probably best to also overlay the feedback overlay at the bottom of the slide with a solid shape the color of your background since these are offset.

There's a bit of manual work involved in hiding / showing the submit / next / back buttons. A little less if all you want to do is hide / show or deactivate the submit button. This could also be done from the master slide to save some work.

Hey Tori,

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

This thread is a bit older so I'm not sure Alan is still subscribed here, but I'm happy to help!

Just to verify, are you wanting to remove the Previous and Next buttons when you review a quiz?

If so, Wendy shared a great demo over here on hiding them

Let me know if that works for you!
