Quizmaker will not retain audio qualities

May 09, 2013

I need for the quality of the audio in Quizmaker to match the quality of the audio in the main Presenter presentation.

When I set the audio quality in Quizmaker using the Quiz Properties dialog, Quality tab, it does not retain the settings I enter. After I enter the desired settings Custom>JPEG Factor 100%, Audio bitrate 128 kbps, then click OK. When I reopen the dialog, I see that the settings have reset to optimize for web delivery.

I remember there was some arcane solution for this, but I neglected to write it down. Please help.

Thanks for the screenshot, John.

Would you mind sending the files over to us so we can give it a try on our end?

First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload.

Thanks!

Hi, John:

I ran into this same issue a few years back. Did everything, even re-installed Windows and Studio. I eventually did the following workaround (not elegant, but way better than having overly compressed audio):

1. Publish your quizzes only (you'll get a prompt on publish to determine your quality and bitrate settings set them as desired)

2. Import your already published quizzes back into your presentation.

Perhaps try publishing a dummy quiz with some audio to see if it'll work. Let me know if that works out. --Daniel

Could you try the following and see if this helps.
1. Open any .QUIZ directly in Quizmaker (Do not use Presenter for this test)
2. Publish the quiz for the web.
3. In Quizmaker, change the quality setting to your desired settings.
4. Publish this quiz again for the web and double-check if the desired quality settings were applied.
If the correct quality settings were applied, please close Quizmaker and then open your PowerPoint file.  Edit the quiz from within the Presenter menu.  Try to change the quality settings again and proceed with publishing the presentation. This should now allow you to save the quality settings for your quiz once you have published your project.
If you have Engage Interaction:
1. Open any interaction directly in Engage (Do not use Presenter for this test)
2. Publish the interaction for the web.
3. In Engage, change the quality setting to your desired settings.
4. Publish this interaction again for the web and double-check if the desired quality settings were applied.
If the correct quality settings were applied, please close Engage and then open your PowerPoint file.  Edit the Engage interaction from within the Presenter menu.  Try to change the quality settings again and proceed with publishing the presentation. This should now allow you to save the quality settings for your interaction once you have published your project.

Susie So

I'm still having issue  when changing the quality level of the bitrate, it doesn't allow me to keep the change. I've done some poking around the forum and found this link...

It's saying it is fixed this issue in the latest update but i have the latest updates and it doesn't solved the issue with the bitrate.... Can someone help?

Thanks,

Susie
