Reporting Short Answer Results

Dec 06, 2013

Hi All

I am looking for some advice on how to report short essay-like responses from Storyline, so that they can be easily be read and marked by an instructor either in an LMS (Moodle, Blackboard or other) or database or email. Using info from http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/reporting-storyline-variables-to-an-lms  , I can get the responses to show up in the lms, but the Learner Response column is so narrow that it’s difficult to read. Here’s what it looks like in Blackboard:

The learner response is very difficult to read. I also considered having the student send the “Print Results”, but again the student answer column is too narrow. It looks like this:

I thought I saw somewhere about sending to Google? I would like to use Articulate Storyline, if possible, but I also could use Captivate or other software.  Any ideas? Thanks. Janet.

Hi Janet,

There isn't a way to change the column width within the Print results feature, but I have seen a few community threads where users have reported the results to a Google doc.

Here is how to insert a Google doc into your Storyline course and a discussion here on how to report the variables to a Google doc.

Hi Ashley!

Thanks so much for the information on how to report to a Google doc. I will check it out.

In the meantime, I also discovered a post by Stephanie Harnett with an example of a way to email and print notes ( http://community.articulate.com/forums/t/41146.aspx ). This might also be a solution. I am going to work with both of them today. Thanks, again.
