Add image via URL and remove hyperlink click-through

I'm testing the use of image assets that are linked via URL from our digital asset management platform (adobe experience manager). This is all working pretty smoothly, but I'd like to remove the ability for users to click on the image as a hyperlink, so they aren't taken away from the lesson to a page containing just the image. Is there a way to remove the hyperlink from an image?
