Hi Nichola! Thanks for sharing your perspective! The beauty of Articulate 360 is that we're able to roll out updates pretty frequently, so would you be able to add in a Feature Request on the ability to format the timeline a bit more? Thanks for checking it all out!
Rise is for easy web pages for mobile. Not for complex animations and self defned interactions. It deoesn't have most of SL features. Soto me it is obvious that it deosn't have a timeline.
Rise doesn't have a playhead to sync audio and other slide elements - as Efrat mentioned Rise is set up to build responsive courses that will look great on every device and screen. It doesn't have the same feature set of Storyline or Studio - although our team is continuing to add new features based on user feedback- so if you would like you can share your thoughts on that here.
Is it possible to adjust the size of the media that is placed in a timeline event? I wanted to put an icon in there. I was able to however it is being scaled too large for our liking. Also, the tiles themselves seem very large for the items I have within them. Any way to fix these things? I have attached a file to make it easier to see what I mean. If I knew the size of the image area, I might be able to adjust the size with a white background to compensate.
Also, is it possible to add blocks to a timeline chapter? I would like my text to be consistent within the course. I need to add a timeline but can't seem to figure out how to add another item like a list with the numbers in circles.
Hi Sarah! Thanks for working with Rise! The pre-built lesson types are optimized for fast authoring and viewing on every device.
In Rise, media will scale according to the device on which you're viewing the course. The size of the container for those images will vary depending on the device and orientation. In the Timeline, you can add images as an integral part of the lesson. I can see where that might not work best with an icon image, though.
It sounds like you'd like to include prebuilt lesson types in blocks lessons. We're working toward making that possible! I'll tag this discussion so we can update you with progress.
In the meantime, don't forget about how easily Storyline integrates with Rise! You can create custom interactions with Storyline and add them right into your Rise course. That way, you get the control you need combined with the beauty of Rise.
Crystal, you mention "how easily Storyline integrates with Rise," but my experience has been that the Storyline interaction (when viewed in the mobile portrait aspect) turns into a black box with a "play" icon on top. Is there a recommended sizing for the mobile and magnify that for the other views - desktop, tablet, etc?
The Rise content doesn't have a recommended sizing, as it'll scale responsively to fit the device you're viewing it on. The Storyline block will also scale based on that.

Rise does have Timeline as one of the pre-built lesson types: http://drops.articulate.com/2QzQ/3ATjG7hP
An example of it is in the Employee Health & Wellness sample course as well. It's the 5 Weeks to a Healthier You lesson.
Is there a way to modify the appearance of the timeline? As I feel its a little non noticeable?
Maybe make the line thicker, make the time objects larger or add in your own icons, etc..
Not what I expected as a timeline. Still a nice feature but missing something.

Not a timeline interaction. A timeline with a playhead, like storyline has so you can sync audio and text: https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-2/articles/working-with-the-timeline#timing

How can a data point be added to the timeline? I only see two.
Hi Carla,
Here's a quick Peek - just click anywhere on the line and you can add a new point to the timeline and move it around.
Let me know if you need anything else!
Thanks, Ashley. It looks cool now that I see it, but it wasn't an intuitive find if I didn't get this help! Appreciate the upload.
Good feedback for us to have, so thanks for sharing. If you need any other help, please don't hesitate to ask!
Also, here's a quick link to our Rise tutorials and our Rise Version history has an up-to-date list of new features and fixes added.

Hi Gary,
The play button you see on a mobile device is intended behavior for Storyline content on a phone. Adam explains more about that feature here!
