Audio player optional settings
Jul 10, 2018
We are having issues regarding the audio and what the best solution is.
I understand the reasoning regarding not being able to auto play. With voice overs being a massive part of our eLearning I feel the current audio player is lacking slightly. Could some of the following options be considered?
- Change the scale of the audio player (it is extremely small especially on mobile)
- Remove the seek bar so that the user has to listen before moving on
- Failing that, keeping the seek bar but making it unable to skip
- Allowing an image upload for a play button (so we can design it ourselves)
We thought we had cracked it with embedding a StoryLine block with the new invisible player. However when you use it on a mobile/tablet it requires you to click a play button and opens in a new window (not ideal).
Thanks in advance
Joe

Hey Joe,
Thanks so much for your feedback, and I can appreciate where you're coming from! It's really helpful for us to know how folks are using Rise so we can look at ways we can make it even better. I'm happy to pass your ideas along to our Product team!
Is there a way of changing the colour of the audio player in Rise? I want to use a dark blue background and the audio player does not show up as it's a dark grey colour. I'd like to make it white.
Hi Karyn,
You can change the background of the block, by clicking on Edit > Settings on the block. I hope this helps!
Hi Lea, thanks for the reply. I know how to change the background settings but I don't know how to change the player e.g. the play button and line to another colour. So if I have a dark blue background I cant see the play button or the line so I want to change it to white. Is there a way to do this?
Hi Karyn! There isn't a way to change the color of the audio playbar and play button right now. I can see how having the ability to change the color would be helpful, especially when using a darker background color. I'll share that idea with my team!
Definitely need a feature request to be able to change the colour of the playbar and button!
